Chezney first day at Swimming Lessons

Chezney started out a little tentative but she quickly warmed up!...

Silverwood

We went to Silverwood on Tuesday, this week, with my sister, brother-in- law, nieces, and mom. It was quite the caravan going through the crowds! I'll post more pictures on that later, but today, we are off to Silverwood AGAIN with some friends and their kids to do it all over again... but this time, we're camping! We'll be back Sunday!
Hasta Luego Baby!

Worm

Cohen came out of the bedroom this morning with the same blanket trailing behind him as he had when he had said he was a slug (see previous post).
So I asked him if he was a slug again. No. So then Ethan jumps under the blanket on the opposite side and says "MOM! Look... it's a worm! See... we have a head on both sides!" LOL I love my boys!

Swimming Lessons

I haven't gotten around to looking at all the swimming lesson pics yet, but had to share this set. This was Cohen's first lesson and he was learning how to blow bubbles under water! =)

Lightening Storm

Today was just the craziest storm ever! Water was flowing up from storm drains, rivers were flowing down the streets, and at one point, I pulled over and watched marble sized hail hit my car. The kids were a bit scared (especially Chez). During all of this, there was lightening and thunder. Then it cleared up and just the lightening and thunder returned. I had fun being able to photograph it in such warm pleasant weather!

Poop

Cohen finally went poopy on the potty!
We commemorated the occasion and made a HUGE deal of it!

Kids Choir

Our church surprisingly does not have a childrens choir. You'd think with the size of it, we would have TWO but nope. Not-a-one. I really wish this were different, HOWEVER, every great once in awhile, the kids are asked to come up and lead a song. Sometimes they have no clue they are even going to do it. This was one of those times. And I just happened to have my camera!

Slug

Cohen wrapped a large blanket around himself and then walked around, dragging the blanket behind him. He then looks at me and says "Mommy! I'm a SLUG! Pour SALT on me!"

Disbelief

I just can't believe how big my little girl is getting. Every time I look at her I just see a blossoming young lady transforming in front of my eyes. Can't we just hit pause for a moment?

Just the Beginning

I have 55 lbs of apricots ripening as I type... which explains the canning I'm doing today.
I'm excited to move on to syrup and jam, too. And CAN'T WAIT for peach season!!!

The First Ice Cream

Ice cream is a regular treat throughout the summer,
but there is something extra special about
the first ice cream of the summer!

And now for catch-up!!!

I want to work from past to present to catch my blog up with photos of fun summer things we've been up to but had to add this today since it just happened this weekend and I was looking at it.
We went to visit some friends and camp out on their property. They live out in the REAL country and have plenty of land to prove it!
The kids caught frogs, baby birds, crickets, grasshoppers, bees, and more. It was such a WONDERful experience. I love it when the kids have the freedom and opportunity to roam and learn as they go!

The Nose that Glows

I gave the kids glow sticks to sleep with tonight.
After they were asleep, I went in to check on them and found
that Chezney had bit the tip of her glow stick- making it leak...
with evidence right smack in the middle of her face... LOL
Her nose was glowing!!!

Top of the Laughter Chain

In our house, it's okay to laugh at ourselves, and at others. ;) We find humor at everyones expense including our own.
Danissa has recently been the butt of the jokes, because of a day awhile back- when she figured out how to slam her own hand in the jam of the bathroom door. Yes, it hurt. Yes, she cried. Yes, we laughed (but not without a few hugs, too).
Well, Danissa is no longer at the center of this laughter. A couple days ago (maybe even weeks? LOL) Ethan managed to slam his own HEAD in the sliding glass door. He came in holding both sides of his head and bawling. Before I could even start to comfort him, I just had to look at Danissa and say "Danissa... say "thank you" to your brother. Daddy won't be making fun of you anymore!"
So hilarious!
