Cohen

Cohen has a fever. The poor kid has been a good sport but I feel sorry for him. We've been trying to keep him entertained and snuggled.
Yesterday, Mike decided to let Cohen (who was sitting in the living room) call me (I was in the kitchen). Mike put him on speakerphone so that Cohen could see me talking in the kitchen and hear me on the phone at the same time and see if he could figure it out.
So he and I are carrying on a conversation WHILE he's looking at me in the kitchen. You could tell it wasn't clicking...
Then all of a sudden, he jumped and pointed at the phone and then back to me and said "Mommy!!! Your funny!!!" And he just laughed and laughed. It was so funny to see his reaction when something finally clicked!

Pumpkin Fun

The kids and I did pumpkins with daddys help yesterday. These are the pumpkins that each kid got to pick out at the Pumpkin Patch last week.
Danissa gutted hers- herself, and did most of the cutting (first time with a knife!). Ethan gutted his and drew a face, which I cut. And for the twins- I sprayed adhesive spray on them and let them roll them in the leaves. Then the last picture is of my two pumpkins...I have to say....I'm pretty proud of myself.

Chezney wouldn't touch her pumpkin because it was "too dirty...".

Practical Joke

It's funny...the things you can learn about your kids when you do unsuspecting things to them. For example...All five of us were ready and out the door, in the van....waiting for Ethan. This is a pretty common problem. Soooo....we decided to leave without him. *not really*
I got out of the car and hid along the side of the house. Mike closed the open door that had been waiting for Ethan, put the van in reverse, went into the street, and drove off right as Ethan was coming out of the house. So does he stand there in fear? No. Does he go back into the house and cry? No. Does he go stand by the sidewalk and wave for our attention? No. Instead...he starts running full speed down the street after the van....a whole block before Mike pulled over laughing. Then he came back to get me. LOL...I never would have guessed that he would have just run off like that....

Growing....

My kids have been dropping like flies! Lately they continue to just randomly fall asleep throughout the day. I think they all must be growing....
Actually...Danissa and Ethans picture was taken at bed time but they were told some "Scary" stories by a neighbor girl, so they were unable to fall asleep by themselves so this was their solution....
Chezney fell asleep on the way home from daycare and so I carried her into the house and put her on the couch where she slept another 2 hours!
Cohen fell asleep on the way home from church....and also fell asleep in the middle of the living room floor the other day, but Mike didn't take a picture...

Small Group

We started our first small group last night and it was just so much fun! Mike and I are so excited. The couples that have joined the group so far are terrific and we couldn't be happier.
We also had 8 kids downstairs playing throughout the group, but soon (once everyone comes and is well) we will have 12...and possibly 16 if another couple joins that is interested. WOW...this is going to be interesting!!!

Back to the Pumpkin Patch

Ethans class went on a field trip to the pumpkin patch we had visited last weekend as a family. I got some really fun photos I thought I would share...

There were so many more photos I would like to share but they are of other peoples kids and I'm guessing most of my visitors come on here to see my kids.... ;)

School Project

In one of my classes (graphic design) they are starting us out with the basics. We are making various posters advertising this or that...but all we get is paper. Grrrr. No computer...nothing.
SOOOO...this poster is supposed to be on only one of the four seasons, and we can only use a triadic color base and one accent color (basically...we make the whole poster off of three particular colors and an accent color) and the name of that season has to be on the poster.
I decided to do all four seasons...with only one triadic color wheel...AND we're supposed to "think outside the box" and not just make a generic seasonal scene. So here is the one I just made tonight....
It has all four seasons in it and each branch grouping spells out the name of the season. It was my first attempt at using a exacto knife...so...I give kudos to me ;)

Busy busy busy

We have been so busy! I feel that I am slowly starting to neglect my blog, which makes me sad, but at the end of a long day...it has become just one more thing. I will definately try to keep it up...but I'm not going to break myself over it.
School has picked up...schedules are crazy and hectic to the point that my mom actually made me a 5x7 card showing me what I have to do each day...who has my kids that day...and where I need to go in what order...just to pick them up and not miss one. Yesterday, for example was horrible.
First, I went out of order and picked the twins up before Ethan...which made me think I had Ethan already so I headed to the school to get Danissa. When I was almost there, I realized that I should be on my way to my mother-in-laws house and not the school. So I called her to let her know that I had forgotten Ethan, I'll be there in a minute, and then called my sister to have her pick up Danissa and meet me at my house, since now...I will be late to get her.
So that got me on another train track I wasn't supposed to be on...Since it was Tuesday, I was supposed to be picking up the kids and taking them to my moms house and going to another class. BUT, since I was heading home to meet my sister with Danissa, that got me thinking that Mike will be home any minute and then I'll leave for school (which is the case on M, W, and Th). HOWEVER...when I called him and asked him how far away he was...he was not so sure what I meant. I reminded him that I needed to be on my way to school and he reminded me that it's his late day at work and my mom is watching the kids that night! ACK! So I threw the kids in the car (ALMOST LITERALLY!) and head to my moms house and then off to school late.
Oh LORD, help me

Pumpkin Patch

We almost didn't go to the Pumpkin Patch today because it was so cold but - last minute...we went... at about 4:00! We had a good time after getting over the initial disapointment of fewer pumpkins to chose from and higher prices, but the kids were looking forward to it so we went forward with plans. It turned out to be just as fun as always...Mike and I agreed that it is one of the highlights that we look forward to each year.

And just for fun.......A little flashback from last year....same Hayride...same people...one year earlier.

Cookin'

I have decided that - even if it kills me - all of my kids will grow up and leave this house knowing how to cook, clean, and do basic home-ec type skills. Today...my little Ethan cooked us dinner from beginning to end (no chopping required)...that is...until the grease splattered onto his arm; then he was done...but he was almost finished so I think he pretty much did the whole meal himself.

Becoming A Real Brother

Ethan is slowly reminding me of what my brother was like growing up. For example....the other day I heard the following conversation:
Ethan: "Hey...Danissa..."
Danissa: "What?"
Ethan: *insert BIG fart here* "I've been saving that for you all day."

Back to the Doctor

My computer has gone back to the doctor. Sorry about the absence. It will be back in a few days hopefully!!!
