Summers Comin'

Well, I can definitely tell that summer is just around the bend. School is picking up as we prepare to cram the final things on the agenda into the final two weeks of school. On top of that- going into summer mode brings sleepovers and play-dates which have already begun. Danissa had a friend stay the night last night and they had a great time being giggly girls.
Ethan had a fantastic T-Ball game today and he closes the season Wednesday with his last game and *I'm so excited* his FIRST trophy being handed out!!!
Chezney and Cohen are officially "at home" kids again, with me being home more, but as pictures are also picking up with the weather, I'm wondering what I'm going to do with all four of them during photo sessions. Something affordably cheap so I'm not giving away my session for free.
I have a lot of ideas for the summer, so it's time to start thinking about summer schedules and what it will cost. Danissa wants to be in some art classes and being in tennis. Ethan will inevitably want to be in tennis, too, and of course there is always swimming lessons. The twins are probably young - yet- for swimming lessons so I don't think I'm going to worry too much about them being anything this year, but I know next year will be the big kick-off of the busyness of four athletic and movin' kids.
Deep breath - summer- we're almost there!

Sticky Fingers... I mean Paws...

When we got home from an outing, the kids went out the backdoor, on the porch, and down to play in the yard. By the time I made it into the kitchen behind them, the dog was crying like I've never heard before. I ran out there and couldn't find her... so I listened and found her behind the freezer, both front paws stuck to a sticky mouse trap.
I moved the freezer, and slowly removed her paws from the trap. Then gave her a bath (which didn't work). Chezney then told Jazmine "awww....it's okay. I'm so proud of you."
I realize now, that the puppy must have cried herself to exhaustion while we were gone, and as the kids went out on the porch, she realized we were home and started crying again. Poor thing had been stuck there for awhile!

Grandparents Day

Grandparents Day was a huge success with 8 grandparents showing up for the kids! I (shockingly!) forgot my camera, so I won't have any pictures till the school hands out the ones they took.
The kids spent time with the grandparents in their classrooms and then performed for them at an assembly. I just want to say THANK YOU so much to the grandparents who went out of their way to make this day special. I know it's crazy and a bit chaotic but you put my kids as a priority and take the time to show them that they matter. Thank you!

How Chezney Fell Asleep Tonight...

A Boy and His Dog

I know.... enough of the dog already...
but I just had to post this one. Ethan was watching
a movie on my computer in the livingroom, and curled up with
pup on her bed, while she took a nap. Classic boy-and-his-dog moment!

The newest addition to the Family Circus

So Ethan now has his own puppy, which he named Jasmine. He loves his puppy and even made her go to sleep with his sweater as a blanket. =)
We pulled over twice on the way home due to her whining, and both times she immediately went potty/poop. GOoOoOD PUPPY! So far, so good!!!

Ice Cream

The last night that Mike was away, I took the kids to get ice cream. Because Chezney was sick, we couldn't go in anywhere, and also couldn't go to the park which is what I had planned,... so we took the ice cream home with us and enjoyed it together on the bench.

Productivity

It's amazing...-the things you can find to do
when your husband is away
.... none of which are very productive...

Things I loVe: #4

Chezney will NEVER get something without asking if she can get one for Cohen, as well. Wether it be a vitamin, a piece of gum, , a bouncy-ball, a coloring book, and blanket... she always makes sure that Cohen is included.

Model Chezney

Chezney was picked to be a model for a local children's clothing store here in town. I was worried that she may do something that is classic for her- like refuse to wear the skirt without pants under it, or tell the photographer no about something- oh hide behind my leg the whole time. Did she do any of those things? NO! I was so surprised to find that she exceeded every expectation I had of her and did GREAT! She was also given the skirt, as a reward =) Great job Chez!!! Her chosen pic should be posted later today at http://jacquelinestonasphotography.wordpress.com/

Away

Well... the kids and I are officially on our own. Mike is in Canada till Sunday night. I'm fighting with myself between spending the time deep cleaning the house or spending lots of time playing with the kids... I'm sure there is a happy medium in there somewhere.
Mike and I have never gone more than two days without talking- and on a normal day, we talk and text every 2 hours at the very least... so this will definitely be a new experience not talking to my husband for 4 days.
Well... here we go!

I've got the Joy down in my heart

Chezney was singing in the car
"I've got the joy, joy, joy, joy down in my heart"
Suddenly she stops and says... mommy.... you're in my heart!

Cohen

Cohen decided to put on this fuzzy hat and then forgot he was wearing it and wore it around for quite some time. It was pretty cute....here, he's watching TV in my bed...

Bowling with Chezney

Mom and Dad took the boys for the night last night and Danissa ended up staying with a friend, so we were left with just one little one. We decided to go out to dinner at El Porton and then went bowling. Chezney LOVED it and we will definitely be going back with all four kids some time soon!
Who knew that the ball return was so exciting??

The River Amatery

The twins have lately been talking about the River Amatery when we drive by the river. "Look mom! The River Amatery!" They started doing this when my parents took them to Moses Lake this past weekend and they drove along the Columbia. I think that they are confusing it with The River Academy, which I think they believe is the name of the actual river. LOL...little misunderstandings.

Hide-&-Go-Seek

There are 7 kids hiding in here....although...
even when they are all standing I don't think you can see all 7....

Pre-Teen Drama Queen

Who said the pre-teen attitude starts in 2nd grade? I thought maybe around 11, 12, ...13 we'd be seeing some changes, but no. They are slowly happening now. She's starting to get this little eye roll and sigh that is unmistakably teenager. An annoyance for her little brother also comes with that...
Oh, lord....help us...
