Backyard Play

One reason for me to like where I live is the variety of children for my kids to play with. I actually have a hard time pinning them down to just stay in our yard and hang out with us. There is a great community "alley" next to the house where the kids carpool, scooter, bike, and skate. Sometimes feelings get hurt, sometimes bad habits/words are learned, but this is life. Life is a bit messy but also a bit fun.

Mom and Daughter

Danissa and I were playing with her camera a few months ago and I just found this on her camera. We never went through her pictures and uploaded them, so I had completely forgotten about that! =)

Say Wwwwhat?

I got a free pink daybed today for Danissas room, along with a small chair that I plan to recover to match her room (it was on the sidewalk with a free sign, too!!!) Cohen saw the disassembled day bed, and while looking at the railing that runs lengthwise of the bed, he said to Danissa very sarcastically "You going to sleep in crib?"

For all my non-facebook family ;)

I know some of you that keep up with my blog don't keep up with facebook, so just for fun, I'm posting this pic that I took at a wedding this weekend. I thought it was super fun and just had to share. =)
The thunder rolled through all of our wedding prep time and then the ceremony was delayed because of rain for a short time. Kuddos to the DJ that started playing Milli Vanillis "Blame it on the Rain" as guests waited under shelter. LOL! Thanks to Mary for having me tag along with her!

Musical Beds

Picture this, if you can:
Metal bunk bed, full on bottom, twin on top.
The kids want a "sleepover" type night with each other,
so I allow Danissa to sleep on the bottom bunk with Chezney and Ethan.
Cohen wants to be on the top bunk by himself.
THEN:
Cohen is crying because he wants Ethan.
Crying and crying and crying and crying.
Then he switches and decides he wants Danissa.
Danissa says she's willing to go up and sleep with him on the top bunk.
She moves.
Chezney cries for Danissa. I allow her on the top bunk
(3 kids on top, Ethan on bottom by himself)
Cohen is crying because Chezney is on top and he doesn't want her.
Chezney is crying because she now wants only Cohen and not Danissa.
Ethan is crying because he's on bottom and by himself.
I decide to have Danissa and Chezney on bottom and let Ethan be on top
with Cohen (Back to the first reason Cohen was crying).
Ethan cries because
he doesn't want to be on top.
End result: 4 kids sharing a full bed on bottom.

A Walk In the Park

Cohen the Artist

Cohen drew his first official picture yesterday. It is a spider (the smily face on it was, I'm sure, added by Ethan). He drew the circle himself, and proceeded to give it legs and then color it in. Way to go Cohen!

Too Much In Common

They're both bouncy, energetic, obnoxious, loving, snuggly,
attention-craving,
pee inside (LOL) and both have the same hair-do.

Ground Hogs Day... Sort of

Danissa has been asking what a ground hog is. As much as I try to point them out to her, she hasn't seen one, other than us finding them on the internet for her. TODAY, however, I took the kids to the park to do some pictures (to be shared later) and we bumped into some unexpected friends. Danissa is sure never to forget this encounter!

Mohawk

Ethan has gone back to his "summer do" which is a stylin' Mohawk. He is very proud of his Mohawk and actually talks about it more than I think a person could be able to come up with things to say about a Mohawk.
He's also loving the movie "Alvin and the Chipmunks". At one point in the movie, Dave says to them "I want you bright eyed and bushy-tailed by 8." Alvin replies by saying "My tail is not bushy till 9."
At this point, Ethan looks at me and says "Hey!... my Mohawk isn't bushy till 9!" It was so funny! He said it in a way that sounded surprised that He and Alvin would have so much in common. Just hilarious!

Farther Behind

I refuse to let my blog die, and as such, I am making an oath that I will blog at least every other day, once again ;)
The kids are officially off for summer and photography continues to pick up- which is SUPER!
We are on our way out the door in just a few moments to go swimming at grandmas, while I watch Cathy's girls and work on my website from my laptop. The kids will enjoy that more than me ignoring them here at home ;)
Well, off we go! I'll try to post something more interesting later on tonight! =)

so BUSY

Feels like I haven't blogged in forever... things have been so busy around here with T-ball and end of school year stuff, but THURSDAY is the last day of school and then we are taking a week to do nothing.... (I'm sure I'll do something once that time comes around! LOL)
Photography has been picking up which is good, and I'm loving being home with the kids. Mentally I still feel like I'm being rushed and need to hurry to get things done and haven't yet transitioned to the fact that I can work slower, do a better job at it, and spend time with the kids. I'm trying to remind myself of my life before working, where I would go in the backyard and play with the kids more, or sit and watch a movie and have popcorn with them. I'm really trying to retrain myself into the "at home mom" mentality. Not that being at home means less work... in fact I think it means more... however you have more time to accomplish that, as well! Heres to getting into summer-break-mode as fast as possible!!!

Chasing After Love

Mike and I were sitting in the backyard and the next thing we know... the neighbors cat, Tigger, went RUNNING by, followed by Chezney with her arms out screaming "I LOVE YOU!!!!"
