Wednesday Picture

Attention Grabber/Warning

Ethan got a "Bad Attention Grabber" at school on Monday....a first for our entire family. We didn't make TOOOO big of a deal about it since it was his first one and he didn't actually hit someone...he just had a chatty day at school.
Today (Wednesday) rolled around and once again, he got a warning (not an attention grabber)...for not listening when the teacher said to stand (he just looked at her while she repeated her direction to him). So he was separated from the group and not allowed to participate.
With two days in a row of discipline issues, I decided to take action. Although he cannot read, I made him write the sentence "I will obey right away." over and over, and made sure he knew what it was he was writing. It was pretty cute to watch.

FOR MEN

Ethan took a bath this morning before school. As I walked into the bathroom to see how he was doing I could smell the body wash he had been using...it's a body wash that I bought for Mike awhile back that smells like men's cologne. I reminded Ethan that daddy had said not to use his body wash and he just looked at me and said "But it says it's for MEN!" How can you argue with that coming from a 4 year old?

Fearless Astronaut Ethan

Ethan wants to be an astronaut when he grows up...but he wants his mom to be an astronaut too because....it's kind of dark in outerspace....

Double Trouble...Again...

I was doing my semi-annual organizing of paperwork yesterday (AKA: actually opening the bills and organizing them...) I could hear the twins playing nearby. There was no crying or fighting, just a little bit of random.....sneezing. Nothing to worry about though, right?
When I was finished, I came downstairs to find this....yes, folks...that's laundry detergent...

A Sister Reunion

Danissa and I were gone Friday and Saturday scrapbooking at my mom's house. When we got home, there was no doubting that Chezney was missing her sister. This is just a peek at how she was with Danissa (these pics are when she had just gotten out of the shower...).

A Cousin Visits

I decided to have Rianne (my niece) come and play today because I just haven't done that in I don't even know how long. Maybe never just her without her sisters...I can't remember. Anyway, the twins were so excited that maybe Rianne was a little overwhelmed....Chezney followed her around at first saying "Re-Ann!" over and over....and now it's morphed into "Bee-Ann-a!!!" which is her sisters name (Breanna)....and she shouts it at Rianne at the top of her lungs. I think Rianne doesn't even realize that Chezney is calling her Breanna...to her it's just a bunch of baby babble. So cute...

Flashback- Ethan Style

Today I was reminded of a funny thing that Ethan did years ago that had been filed into some dusty corner of my memory and I decided that today was the day to air it out!
Ethan was just a hair over two years old. I had been busy cleaning the kitchen and Ethan decided to push a chair over to the kitchen counter and take a look at our Beta fish. After awhile, I heard Ethan giggling and realized that the fish was nowhere to be found. My first thought was that it may have been put down the disposal since it wasn't anywhere in the sink (which was next to the bowl...) then I saw that Ethan was still giggling and his hand was closed. The fish was inside his tiny little fist (mind you I couldn't even catch this fish with a fish net!!!). So we plopped the fish back into the bowl, got Ethan's hands clean, moved the chair and I went to the back porch to feed the cats.
When I came in, the chair was moved back, Ethan was up on it and once again the fish was gone. This time, Ethan's hands were open, and he looked at me and said "Yummy!!!". Oh my goodness....
My first thought now was that Ethan had eaten the fish. As I was trying to decide if this was physically bad and if the Beta could be poisonous, I saw a tiny little fin poking out from beneath the rocks at the bottom of the fish bowl. Carefully, I moved the rocks until my little fish swam free. Other than a torn fin, the fish escaped unharmed....but how Ethan ever caught that fish twice, AND buried it alive...I'll never know!

Under-where

EVERY TIME the twins are able to sneak into my room, they go straight to my underwear drawer and start putting them around their necks (like...their entire head through one of the openings and wear it like a necklace)...they will continue this ritual until my underwear drawer is empty and then they proceed to parade around the house until I am able to catch them and regain some dignity. I'm certain that the day will come when someone is in my home or at my door and the twins will come marching through the house adorned in my panties....oh my goodness....

Flying

Did you know Ethan can fly? Neither did I! But apparently he can...it's just that when he's on the ground, his powers sleep....hmmmm

The pacifier goes where?

Tonight, Chezney had more pacifiers than she needed so she was looking for the best place to put one. She walked over to Mike who was laying on the couch, lifted his shirt, and looked around mumbling something in One-Year-Old. She then she decided the best place would be his belly button, and proceeded to put the pacifier, nipple first, into his belly button...it looked like his belly was sucking on a pacifier. So funny ;)

22 Goldfish

I was cleaning up in the kitchen when I heard that classic sound of a child quite near choking....I say quite near because actual choking would be silent,....so this was as close to choking as it could get minus actual silence.
Anyway, I hear Cohen choking and come around the corner to see his face fully red, his mouth making a small "o" and his head shaking as he's trying to clear out his mouth. I went over to him and helped him only to find 11 goldfish crackers crammed into that tiny space (I counted because there were just so many...I was amazed!).
As I went to throw away the 11 goldfish, I heard Chezney start to make the same sound...I went over to her, repeated the process...and what did I find? 11 GOLDFISH! Are they twins or what?!

Family Fun

Ever since Christmas, this house has had a new bedtime theme....boardgames. The kids banked on board games this year and so we've been putting the babes to bed and letting the older two stay up to play a game.
Tonight, after making a BIG fort in the living room, having a big breakfast dinner complete with syrup and powdered sugar and trying to settle down for our game, poor Ethan just couldn't consentrate on playing and was super hyper (a HUGE difference from last night!)...after a lot of requests to try to focus and calm down, he jumped out of his chair, almost fell, and then leaped back into his chair saying "Gosh...I'm such a silly spaz!"...that made us all laugh and he was laughing, too, but it just made me feel sorry for the little guy...
(By the way...the thing sticking off the top of the fort is a CHIM-I-NEY)...

Due to the long night last night, Ethan and Danissa have been at each others throats all day, despite discipline, naps, and pep-talks, nothing is changing their attitudes. Finally Mike and I were so sick of it, I told them to bundle up and get their snow clothes on and take advantage of their last bit of daylight today. They didn't want to so Mike told them that all the snow is supposed to melt tonight and there won't be anymore to play with tomorrow!
They are bundling up as I type....
